First Login to UKNI MVS - Quick Start Guide - Step 1

Ready to log in to the UKNI MVS?  Please follow the links to instructions below.

You will need your initial credentials issued by SecurMed:

  • Username and Password (you will be prompted to change your initial password the first time you log on to the UK MVS)
  • Software (TAN) Code – A short code which works in unison with the Username and Password to access the UKNI MVS

STEP 1 - Download Certificate

  1. Click Certificate Portal url
  2. Log in using Username and Password
  3. Click on Certificate Download in the top menu
  4. Enter the TAN code where requested
  5. Click on Download Certificate
  6. Write down Passphrase provided in the Pop-up window
  7. Record your Passphrase in a safe place (if you need to download the certificate onto other hardware)

Bulk Registrations: Will each Location have unique credentials?

Bulk Registrations are suitable for multiple organisations/companies within the same legal entity at the same time. Each organisation/company will be an individual End User Location and will therefore have its own Username and UKNI MVS Certificate.

Will Community/Hospital Pharmacies be able to return stock to their Wholesaler or a DTP manufacturer’s distributor?

This depends upon the terms and conditions of both the Wholesaler and the manufacturer. However, in general, we expect the current returns process will remain valid as long as the stock has not been decommissioned and the anti-tamper device is still intact.

Who is going to pay for software and hardware changes in healthcare institutions, pharmacy and wholesaler systems - and how much will it cost?

Each healthcare institution, pharmacy and wholesaler will need to purchase the equipment required to enable it to scan the unique identifier and undertake verification and decommissioning.

I am having a problem logging onto my FMD software. What should I do?

If you have successfully logged onto the UKNI MVS but are having a problem logging onto your FMD software, please contact your Software Supplier.

I’ve received my Software (TAN) Code via email but my Username and Password has not arrived by post. How long does this normally take?

Your Username and Password should arrive within five days of the email, addressed to the End User Location Contact at the End User Location provided during registration.
